FIELD: internal-combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: engine 1 has bedplate 7 with main bearings 8 for crankshaft, A-shaped box 2 mounted on bedplate and provided with stiffening ribs 9 which support guide planes 13 for crosshead, and cylindrical section 3 pressed to bedplate by means of fastening bolts 16. Rigid crosswise fastening facility has single-layer flat wall 9 carrying on each side two opposing guide planes 13 whose rear side is supported by vertical rigid fastening facility 14 welded to flat wall; the latter forms, together with rigid fastening facility and guide plane, hollow section 15. Each hollow section passes connecting bolt 16 whose bottom end 17 is fixed in bedplate at point elevated relative to main bearings 8. Rigid fastening facility 14 is passed vertically up to bedplate of A-shaped box. Crosswise rigid fastening facility of A-shaped box is built up of several members that may be joined together by external welds. EFFECT: improved crosswise stiffness of rigid fastening facility; reduced space requirement in longitudinal direction of engine. 6 cl, 4 dwg
