FIELD: manufacture of engines, specifically, large-sized two-stroke cross-head engines. SUBSTANCE: one hard wear layer as minimum is sprayed on internal surface of cylinder barrel of internal combustion engine. After it run-in layer is deposited without mechanical machining. Spaying of one or several intermediate layers which hardness is below average hardness of wear layer but above that of run-in layer is possible between first two layers. Prior to contact with piston rings sprayed wear layer should have roughness N9 at least and preferably in range from N11 to N12. Run-in layer can be made from graphite balls coated with such metals as molybdenum, aluminium, silver or nickel to improve lubrication conditions in process of run-in. EFFECT: simplified process of manufacture of cylinder barrels. 10 cl, 2 dwg
