FIELD: driving low-power generators when using one windmill on vertical shaft and high- power generators when incorporating more than one shaft- mounted windmills. SUBSTANCE: suspension windmills vertically mounted on common shaft set in rotary motion ground-mounted slow-speed generator. Windmills are suspended from cable stretched between two masts. Cable carries bearing placed in plastic clamp and coupled with flexible shaft. This shaft mounts all windmills. Flexible shaft is built up of four cables and two thin steel rods passed between them perpendicular to each other and to flexible shaft so as to form equal-arm spider. Sails are suspended from mentioned arms. Puller dogs are tied to bottom corners of each sail. Ends of these two dogs at each sail are passed through gold rings. Each ring is held in center between ends of rods of main spider by means of taut struts. It is just the ring that holds sail in vertical position during working motion. Cord is passed through gold ring to stop windmill rotation. One end of mentioned cord is connected to center of bottom edge of sail and its other end is brought to small bottom spider. When all four cords are tensioned, all four sails assume horizontal position, and windmill stops running. EFFECT: improved efficiency and simplified design of plant. 2 dwg
