FIELD: wind-power engineering. SUBSTANCE: plant windmills and generator have their axis of revolution of four-cable flexible shaft on same vertical line. Generator is mounted at bottom under windmills which are threaded onto four cables. These cables are suspended from bearing and the latter, from horizontal cable stretched between two masts; each windmill is provided with two sails tied with strings to holes in edges of two yards. Rectangular yards 2 built up of plates have large central hole (30 mm in diameter) and eight small ones arranged in pairs in radial directions from axis of revolution of shaft and equally spaced from center and from each other. These eight holes are used to tie two yards 2 together by means of strings; yards 2 should be arranged so as to ensure their displacement through 90 deg. relative to each other along axis of revolution of shaft. Two sails stretched on yards form two half-cylinders positioned so as to make use of active and reactive actions of wind and to acquire pair of its forces to set flexible shaft in rotary motion; the latter imparts it to generator. Four parallel notches are made on edges of each yard 2, closer to center, two on either side; with yards shifted along axis of revolution through 90 deg. form, when tied together, four holes confined between these notches. These four holes receive four cables of flexible shaft; however, yards 2 are free to move over them up and down by means of halyard that functions to stop flexible shaft. One end of halyard attached at center of top yard of upper windmill holds all windmills on shaft. Other end of halyard passed through central holes of all yards is secured in clamp mounted in bottom part of flexible shaft. With halyard end fully loosened, all windmills slide over four cables of flexible shaft and come together to form bellows on lower platform above generator with the result that shaft stops rotating. Generator can be also stopped by means of coupling but in this case flexible shaft will still rotate at no load. EFFECT: improved efficiency of plant, simplified design. 2 dwg
