FIELD: electrical engineering; fiber-optic communication lines built in ground wires of high- voltage lines. SUBSTANCE: ground wire has optical fibers placed in insulating sleeves, central power member, insulating sheath, metal sheath, and armor. Outer surface of metal sheath is longitudinally corrugated; armor is built up of lays of round wires in which adjacent wires have different mechanical strength and conductivity. This mechanical design provides for augmented heat transfer without reducing mechanical strength of ground wire. EFFECT: improved operating reliability of ground wire. 1 dwg
