FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention aims at increasing strength of pellets produced from iron-ore concentrates and fired at 1150-1375 C. Method consists in fabricating crude pellets in tray or drum pelletizing apparatuses from a charge composed of titanium- magnetite concentrate, binding or alloying additives; drying pellets; oxidizing them to 85-90%; firing with partial dissociation of hematite at 1150-1375 C; and cooling. Content of calcium, silicon, magnesium, and titanium oxides in finished product is controlled from CaO/SiO2 ratio in dependence on content of TiO2 and MgO using following equation: Cao/SiO2=(1.2-1.3)-(0.20- 0.25)(MgO+TiO2-1.0) where (1.2-1.3) is CaO/SiO2 ratio when summary MgO and TiO2 content is equal to 1 wt %. EFFECT: improved strength of product.
