PYROTECHNIC DRAINAGE VALVE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of fittings; shut-off fittings with pyrotechnic drives. SUBSTANCE: mounted in cylindrical passage of valve body is cylindrical shut-off member with circular seal rigidly connected with piston. Piston is arranged in chamber which is brought in communication with threaded seat where pyrotechnic source of pressure is mounted. Valve body has flange with circular end seal, thus providing for reliable attachment of valve on casing of gas reservoir. Inlet and outlet branch pipes are located respectively inside and outside the reservoir on different sides from flanges; these branch pipes are made in form of blind hollow cylinders. Straightway passages of inlet branch pipe are made in form of slots on its lateral surface and those of outlet branch pipe are made in form ports in its end surface; area of ports is lesser than that of slots. Union for locking the shut-off member in closed position is made in form of shear pin located in wall of chamber and in piston. During motion, shut-off member is engageable with stop at the end of inlet branch pipe and its circular seal fills the groove on inner surface of inlet branch pipe, thus locking the shut-off member. Provision is made for check of operation of pyrovalve. EFFECT: improved operational characteristics of drainage pyrotechnical valve. 4 cl, 2 dwg
