FIELD: projection television systems. SUBSTANCE: for creation of television image points the system uses at least three controlled-intensity light sources for generation of light signals (R,G,B) of different wavelength, the color tone of each image point is specified by primary-colors (R, G,B) signals in the first base system, which may be presented on the I.C.I. chromaticity diagram by angular points of the chrominance band determined by wavelengths of kinescope luminophors. Wavelengths of these light signals determine determine the second base system, having a common chrominance band with the first one. Provision is made for an input circuit made up of three light sources 10 for generation at least of three electric signals proportional to the signals of primary colors (R,G,B) or containing them in a mixture, and a light sources control unit controlled by signals from the input circuit and having a circuit with the aid of which each color tone is transformed from the first base system to the second one by means of a matrix. The shortest wavelength of light sources is 470 nm or less, and the other wavelengths of light sources are so selected that the common chrominance band would contain at least angular points of the chrominance band of the first base system, whose wavelength exceeds the shortest wavelength preset by the kinescope luminophors. The circuit is so made that the color tone of the image point within the common chrominance band would be similar to the color tone specified by signals of primary colors.
