FIELD: displaying equipment. SUBSTANCE: device displays video image on screen 7 using at least one light source 1 for sending light beam 2 with given shape for illumination of every image dot on screen for given amount of time. In addition shape of light beam 2 is wider than size of dot to be illuminated. Duration of time interval is short enough for observer's perception of image dot size as identical to specific size of image dot. Invention also discloses method which involves production of video image on screen 7 by means of directing light beam 2 with given shape to screen 7 for illumination of every image dot on screen for given amount of time. Goal of invention is achieved by fact that shape of light beam 2 is wider than size of dot to be illuminated and each dot is illuminated for short time.
