ANHYDROUS ALCOHOL PRODUCTION PLANT Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: alcohol production. SUBSTANCE: plant is designed for distilling brew and for dehydrating alcohol by azeotropic rectification. Plant includes, connected by pipeline system, rectification column with brew heater, dephlegmator, and condenser, and dehydration column equipped by boiler, alcohol cooler, dephlegmator, condenser, and decanter. According to invention, plant is also provided with epuration column with boiler, dephlegmator, condenser, head fraction cooler, and gravity separator. Middle part of the latter is connected with bottom part of decanter and bottom part of dehydration column. Condenser of epuration column is connected with head fraction cooler. Dehydration column is equipped with supplementary condenser communicating through intertubular space in its top part with vapor space over the 8-18th trays of the dehydration column. Its bottom part is connected with the same column at the point by 5-12 trays higher than vapor phase run-off point. Improved design provides more complete isolation of head impurities with head fraction and prevents separating agent from ingress into final product. EFFECT: improved quality of alcohol and reduced consumption of separating agent. 1 dwg
