FIELD: transport engineering; vehicle cushioning systems. SUBSTANCE: spring has cylinder accommodating piston with hollow rod forming underpiston and abovepiston spaces filled with liquid, and hydraulic accumulator arranged in rod space, filled with gas and liquid, and communicating with cylinder underpiston space through valve. Valve is made in form of damping unit self adjustable depending on oscillation frequency and providing automatic increase in hydraulic resistance if low frequency oscillations appear in spring oscillation spectrum and decrease in hydraulic resistance if no such oscillations are preset. EFFECT: reduced energy losses and temperature of spring, enhanced riding smoothness and vehicle stability on road; automatic two-stage change of rigidity of damping characteristic depending on spring oscillation frequency. 2 dwg
