FIELD: cushioning of transport facilities. SUBSTANCE: pneumohydraulic spring includes cylinder where piston with hollow rod is mounted forming under-piston and above- piston cavities in cylinder which are filled with liquid. Hydraulic accumulator is located in cavity of rod filled with liquid and gas and is connected with under-piston cavity of cylinder through valve. Valve is made in form of damping unit which is self-adjustable depending on frequency and direction of vibrations. Damping unit includes housing and spring-loaded plunger of H-shaped section. This plunger divides housing of damping unit into above-plunger and under-plunger cavities. EFFECT: automatic two-stage change of stiffness of damping characteristic depending on frequency and direction of vibrations of spring. 2 cl, 2 dwg
