THROTTLE UNIT Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of fittings, gear controlling parameters of flows of working media in equipment for gas, oil and power industries. SUBSTANCE: throttle unit includes body with flow holes, inlet and outlet branch pipes positioned perpendicular, immobile diaphragm and mobile needle with conical tip in which surface grooves of triangular profile are made. Flow hole of immobile diaphragm has grooves of triangular profile. All grooves are arranged in proper surfaces along helical lines, are directed to one side, angle of their inclination to axis of flow hole amounts to 45 deg and circular pitch of groove exceeds depth of its profile. EFFECT: prolonged operational life of throttle unit thanks to decrease in hydraulic losses and in erosion load of swirling flow of working medium on walls of outlet branch pipe. 2 dwg
