FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines; ignition system. SUBSTANCE: ignition coil has spacer 21 in which terminal bolt 22 for coil high tension contact and diode 23 connected with bolt are partly secured with geometrical closing so that diode 23 and terminal bolt 22 are arranged in length in one direction. Spacer 21 is secured on coil form 18 of secondary winding 17 so that diode 23 is arranged over one of chambers 29 of form 18 overlapping the width of chamber as maximum. Owing to use of spacer 21, diode 23 is relieved from mounting forces and breakdown of diode from secondary winding 17 is prevented. Proposed design is intended for use in automobiles, in particular, in internal combustion engines. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities, enhanced reliability. 6 cl, 1 dwg
