Device has high-voltage switch interacting with at least one spark plug. First control signal from control circuit turns the switch into conducting state to pass spark discharge current of at least one spark plug. Switch is made to stay in conducting state until spark discharge current drops to value less than definite preset value (holding current). EFFECT: provision of reliable ignition. 14 cl, 4 dwg
