FIELD: converter engineering. SUBSTANCE: voltage converter that functions as off- line DC low-voltage power supply for welding arc during manual arc welding and cutting of metals has input positive and negative leads and output ones, series-connected storage reactor and switch, first and second diodes connected to storage reactor, and control unit. Negative input and output units are interconnected and control unit output is connected to control input of switch. In addition, welding converter is provided with power capacitor, resistor, third diode, second switch, second output negative lead, as well as series- connected on/off switch, voltage divider with automatically and digitally varying division ratio, threshold device, AND gate, and delay circuit. EFFECT: provision for feeding welding transformer from power supplies of different voltage ratings. 3 dwg
