FIELD: press equipment. SUBSTANCE: roll has cylindrical arbor with journals supporting along periphery segmented prismatic inserts provided with cells inside them and means for securing said inserts to roll arbor. Each of said cells is formed by two oppositely placed ducts with cylindrical surfaces arranged in two adjacent inserts, inclined relative to contact surfaces of inserts and normal relative to roll axis. Each insert may have several inclined ducts with alternating inclination direction arranged along roll generatrix. Between two adjacent inserts with said ducts may be placed insert with cylindrical duct normal relative to plane passing through roll axis. EFFECT: improved design. 3 cl, 1 tbl, 10 dwg
