FIELD: identifying works of arts, religious service objects, and commercial products. SUBSTANCE: technique involves application of alphanumeric or any other cryptographic code using special dyestuff and its entering in computer data bank. Code is applied while object is irradiated by ultra-violet rays followed by exposure of written code to these rays for time interval sufficient for dye penetration through depth equal at least to thickness of surface layer. These procedures are made in ultra- violet rays whose wavelength is 240-400 nm; written code is exposed to these rays for 1-30 minutes.
