METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF OIL-PRODUCT FLOATING ADSORBENT FROM SOLID REMNANTS OF COMBUSTION OF BITUMINOUS AND BROWN COALS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: ecology; production of inexpensive but very efficient adsorbent from activated carbons; may be used in cleaning of contaminated surface of water reservoirs with oil and oil products. SUBSTANCE: method is based on the process of reaction of produced gas with coat at temperature of 500-1000 C in special generating plants. As a result of reaction which takes place at incomplete of bituminous coke, semicoke - adsorbent is obtained. Floating adsorbent is produced from solid remnants of combustion of bituminous or brown coal which consist of cinder, ash and carry-overs of chimney stack trapped in apparatuses of smoke cleaning cyclones, by the method of flotation in baths filled with solutions of mineral salts of different concentrations - brines. The offered method may be used at any boiler house where solid fuel of vegetable origin is burnt. The offered method is of special efficiency at those boiler houses where the technique of fuel combustion is disturbed and much coke and semicoke are formed. EFFECT: provision of production of adsorbent with high service properties from wastes of thermal power stations. 1 tbl
