FIELD: strip material drying equipment provided with inlet and/or outlet sealing means. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has at least one chamber 3 positioned adjacent to inlet and/or outlet of drier 1. Reduced pressure may be created in chamber 3, having guiding rolls 4,7 cooperating with reverse side of strip material 2, which has carrier layer covered with liquid dispersion containing volatile solvents. Sealing wedges 5,6,8,9 are arranged at site opposite to strip material and guiding rolls contact place in spaced relation with face side of strip material 2. Apparatus is further provided with at least one auxiliary chamber 11, where reduced pressure may be created. At least one guiding roll 12(13) and at least one sealing wedge 15 are arranged within auxiliary chamber 11. Method involves directing strip material 2 from drier 1 having pressure of p0 through chamber 3 having reduced pressure of p1 with further passage through auxiliary chamber 11, where increased pressure of p3 is created by means of rectified process gas, with p0 > p1 <p3. EFFECT: increased efficiency, improved maintenance conditions due to reliable sealing at drier outlet and simplified construction. 7 cl, 1 dwg
