FIELD: conversion of different data types at different transmission rate into unambiguous transmission format, in particular, for vocoder data or various plain data types. SUBSTANCE: method involves converting data into fixed length frames which depend on data which are to be sent at specific rate. Vocoder data are transmitted at a specific rate and are represented in frame using given format. Frames can be formatted for shared use of vocoder and plain data in order to achieve maximal frame transmission rate. Various types of plain data are also formatted for their transmission with maximal transmission rate. Method involves use of additional control data in order to maintain different aspects of data transmission and recovery.
