FIELD: powder metallurgy, in particular, devices for production of ultrafine metal powders by condensation from vapor phase. SUBSTANCE: evaporating vessel, where metal is heated and evaporated, is structurally joined with vessel of plasma source in which metal vapors are superheated prior to their discharge to vacuum chamber. In this case, one electric-arc heater is used for evaporation of metal and superheating of metal vapors. Power supplied to cathode and nozzle-anode is transmitted to evaporator walls and evaporated metal, and also to mixture of metal vapors with inert gas. In efflux of superheated mixture of metal vapors with inert gas from evaporator to vacuum chamber, high degree of supersaturation of metal vapors is attained which results in their condensation to form fine particles. EFFECT: reduced power expenditures per weight unit of produced metal powder with simplified design of device. 1 dwg
