FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of powder of metals, alloys and metal compounds from wire. Plasma-arc reactor comprises a housing, a first electrode and a second electrode spaced therefrom, wherein the first electrode is made with a channel, the outlet opening of which goes into the space between the first and second electrodes, means for forming a plasma arc in the space between the first and second electrodes, means for feeding wire through said outlet of channel into space between first and second electrodes and passivation chamber configured to feed wire vapors therein and arranged to form annular slot with surface of gas inlet housing. Wire is connected as a consumable cathode. First electrode has calibrated orifices and an annular groove for plasma-forming gas, the second electrode is made in the form of a bushing, which internal surface represents counter-directed large and small truncated cones, and is fixed and coaxial relative to the first electrode.
EFFECT: obtaining spherical powders without contamination with admixtures of materials of reactor parts.
