FIELD: mechanical engineering; welding. SUBSTANCE: metal blanks to be explosion welded are installed with clearance whose value Δ is found from equation Δ ≤ 2h u/D, where h is thickness of blank to be welded; u is velocity of metal of welded blank behind shock wave front; D is velocity of shock wave in metal of welded blank. Main explosive charge is placed on surface of blank to be welded. At blasting of explosive charge oblique encounter of welded blank with surface of fixed blank is provided. Thickness of blank to welded and length l of section of this blank is chosen to meet relationship l > 2h,, and main charge of explosive is provided with additional charge to create axially symmetric front of detonation. EFFECT: reliable connection of metal blanks in form of flat plates and solid rods, reduced consumption of metal, rational use of expensive metals and alloys. 4 cl, 2 dwg
