FIELD: transport engineering; passive safety facilities. SUBSTANCE: air bag consists of several parts made of cloth featuring equal gas permeability and joined together. All parts of air bag are made of cloth of similar type determined by number of threads and complex thread. Gas permeability of endure air bag as a function of internal gauge pressure rises to gauge pressure of about 10 kPa to 0.4-1.0 m3/s and continues rising at gauge pressure of 10-20 kPa to maximum value and then decreases so that at gauge pressure from 20 kPa to at least 40 kPa to decrease again. Owing to gas permeability curve of such character hardness of air bag is automatically regulated to decreased risk of traumatism at initial pressure rise by provision of reduced hardness of air bag and to prevent breaking down of air bag at high intensity collision by increasing the hardness of air bag.
