FIELD: transport engineering; safety devices; saving of passengers in case of front collision at which deceleration of body exceeds preset value in initial stage of emergency situation and built in power spring quickly shifts indicated body part to position in which belt strap is tensioned heavily, thus preventing negative effect of loose strap. SUBSTANCE: device has rod type mass placed inside housing and provided with possibility of limited travel in two supports: along sliding support at the front and along rolling support at the rear under action of inertia forces. Adjustable sensor spring mounted on front support is adjusted to preset deceleration value. Power spring is released when inertia mass displaces through length at which head of lockmember gets out of contact with second roller of rolling support. Available is device of design in which piston with squib is installed in series with power spring inside cylindrical pipe and is connected with traction member by means of rod. Initiating impact primers are built into piston end face which strike against ring when piston is accelerated by power spring and ignite the squib. Energy of the latter increases tension of belt strap. EFFECT: provision of quick and reliable operation of device. 12 cl, 7 dwg
