FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: potassium chloride of reactive purity is prepared by dissolving original potassium chloride in water at elevated temperature, by filtration of the resulting saturated solution wherein in which sodium ion concentration is maintained at not higher then 0.16%, crystallization of the product, filtration and washing of crystallizate. Prior to being dissolved, original potassium chloride is leached with spent solution resulting from washing the crystallizate to residual sodium ion content of not higher than 0.5% in the original product. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 2 cl
