FIELD: nuclear fuels. SUBSTANCE: anhydrous plutonium trifluoride is prepared via continuous interaction of plutonium hydride with gaseous hydrogen fluoride at 400-500 C for 2.0-2.5 h, stoichiometric excess of hydrogen fluoride being 25-30%. Plutonium hydride is prepared from compact plutonium metal. Radioactive product can find use as fuel for nuclear power stations. EFFECT: improved preparation procedure. 2 cl, 2 tbl
