FIELD: biotechnology, medicinal microbiology. SUBSTANCE: sodium thioglycolate at concentration 0.5 g/l which decreases oxygen concentration in medium is added to Finn-II medium composition exhibiting decreased pH value as compared with other conventional nutrient media. Sowing degree of mycobacterium tuberculosis on the parent and modified Finn-II media are similar - 2.8%. Sodium thioglycolate at concentration 0.05% in medium does not effect the growth intensity of culture but accelerates the growth by 5-7 days. No any changes of biological property of mycobacterium tuberculosis can be detected on the modified medium. Proposed nutrient medium can be used for cultural diagnosis of extrapulmonary localization of tuberculosis. EFFECT: improved property of nutrient medium. 1 tbl
