FIELD: methods for processing spent vanadium catalyst by its roasting with production of concentrated vanadium-containing product. SUBSTANCE: roasting of catalyst is carried out at 900-1000 C with supply of flue gases to obtain in vanadium-containing product ration of V:S=1:(0.10-0.40) and VY2O5: MeMe2O = 1:(1.4-2.0), where MeMe2O is sum of oxides of alkali metals; separated sulfur-containing gases are directed to production of sulfuric acid. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
