FIELD: alloy production. SUBSTANCE: method consists in loading charge containing coke and silicon-vanadium component in smelting assembly and smelting charge. As silicon-vanadium component, exhausted vanadium catalyst from sulfuric acid production is used, which is loaded in amount sufficient to provide ratio of coke to exhausted vanadium catalyst to be (0.25-0.65):1. Exhausted vanadium catalyst can be preliminarily thermally treated to adjust its sulfur level to be as high as 1.5%. Charge can be advantageously supplemented with quartzite and/or iron- containing component in amount 0.1-0.3 weight of exhausted vanadium catalyst. EFFECT: reduced cost due to utilizing production waste. 3 cl, 1 tbl
