FIELD: manufacture of permanent magnets. SUBSTANCE: permanent magnets are produced by mixing up two crushed alloys with different content of rare-earth metals, iron, and boron in proportion ensuring the following content of ingredients in finished magnet, mass percent: rare- earth metals - 32-36; boron - 0.9-1.4; iron - the rest; powder is then pressed in magnetic field, baked, and subjected to heat treatment. Alloys of the following composition are used for manufacturing magnets, mass percent: basic alloy - rare-earth metals, 26-40; boron, 2-4; iron, the rest; auxiliary alloy - rare-earth metals, 12-60; boron, 0.5-1; iron, the rest. Auxiliary-alloy powder is added to main- alloy powder during second half-cycle of its fine milling process. EFFECT: enlarged spectrum of alloys for producing permanent magnets of proposed composition and improved characteristics of magnets obtained. 3 tbl
