FIELD: electrical engineering; control systems using thyristor frequency changers. SUBSTANCE: method involves shaping and alternate supply of control pulses to thyristors generating forward and reverse half-waves of currents through load. Time interval is preset, voltage across thyristors is measured, enabling logic signal is shaped and allowed to acquire true value when forward voltage is simultaneously applied to thyristors which shapes forward and reverse half-waves of current through load; next control pulse is applied to thyristors upon expiration of preset time interval; counting of time intervals is enabled at true value of shaped enabling logic signal.
