FIELD: mineral dressing. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns a method consisting in stage grinding of waste and separation of ground material by gravity techniques to produce chromium-, magnesium- and light metal- containing concentrates. According to invention, ground material is subjected to first gravity separation step, in which light fraction in the form of light metal-concentrate and heavy fraction in the form of chromium- and magnesium-containing intermediate product is produced. Heavy fraction is then additionally ground and subjected to separating into chromium- and magnesium-containing concentrates. EFFECT: increased chromium recovery. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 3 tbl
