FIELD: packaging machinery and equipment. SUBSTANCE: this is particularly intended for wrapping piles of such printed matter as bank-notes, envelopes, newspapers, magazines. Device has body with platform for location of printed matter. Installed inside body are mechanisms for feeding of wrapping tape, formation of loop, cutting and fastening of tape ends. Wrapping tape feeding mechanism is made in the form of two pairs of rollers which are as follows: power-driven feeding roller and clamping roller, power-driven tensioning roller and clamping roller. Clamping rollers are mounted on ends of double-arm levers and can be clamped to corresponding power-driven rollers. Loop formation mechanism incorporates gripping member connected with unit for turning and reciprocating movement in vertical and horizontal planes respectively. Mechanism for cutting and fastening of ends of wrapping tape is provided with three power-operated clamps. First one of these clamps is located in way of tape movement between wrapping tape feeding mechanism and rotatable gripping member. Second clamp which is power-operated is installed behind electrical heating head for possible clamping of wrapping tape rear end to supporting platform installed for possible movement in horizontal plane. Mounted on supporting platform is third power-operated clamp intended for fixing forward end of wrapping tape relative to supporting platform after formation of loop. Control system of device incorporates eight power-operated cams. Device is adapted for wrapping articles of various configuration, ensures high-speed performing of operations for formation of loop and high quality of connecting ends of wrapping tape.
