FIELD: jewelry industry; may be used in restoration works or in precision instrumentation engineering and mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method includes anode treatment with pulse current including dissolving of silver articles in aqueous solutions containing salts of hydrocyanic acid. In this case, pulse current of relatively high frequency within the range of 0.1-10.0 Hz is modulated by pulses of relatively low frequency within the range of 0.01-0.10 Hz. Pulses applied to bath are of rectangular shape and their relative pulse duration is determined by bath impedance and is within 1.0-10.0. As a result, passivating film is removed and surface finish is attained equalling Ra = 0.16 with uniform luster and arbitrary article configuration. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 tbl
