FIELD: refuse incineration technology. SUBSTANCE: according to method, smokeless incineration of waste and refuse is exercised by subjecting flame during their incineration to action of powerful longitudinal electric field with intensity not below 3 kV/cm. Due to higher intensity of flame burning in electric fields, incineration of waste and refuse takes place several times quicker and ecologically cleaner. Content of ash in exhaust gases is reduced practically to none. Overall dimensions of devices for incineration of waste and refuse are substantially reduced. Device for realization of aforesaid method has central electrode which is adjustable in height and isolated from body of combustion chamber. Central electrode is provided with needle crown on its end. Also provided is adjustable high-voltage converter which is connected by its output to central electrode and to sump for waste. Sensors for measuring length of flame and sensor for determining composition of exhaust gases are connected through logical functional unit to input of control system of high-voltage converter and to control input of vertical electrode lifting unit.
