Device has electric field source adjustable in amplitude and frequency, electrodes made in form of modified spark plugs, and functional unit for choosing optimum operating conditions of electric field source. The source builds electric field of strength not less than 1 kV/cm, field parameters being adjusted to provide the best degree of cleaning of internal combustion engine exhaust gases.
