FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: uniformly strengthened woven or knitted materials, composite textile material possess high-grade characteristics such as resistance to shrinkage, long service life, stability, absorption. Methods of producing these materials allow for making them in wide assortment. Uniformly strengthened woven or knitted textile material is produced by locating it on supporting member and treating it by multiplicity of jets of liquid, it contains twisted and/or twisted complex threads which are crossing with creation of open zones and comprises fibres with denier of 0,3 to 10,0 and length of 1,3 to 15,2 cm. Threads are entangled in open zones by continuous curtain of incompressible liquid under pressure of 5,7o105 to 11,5o106 J/kg (0,1 to 2,0 hp.h/pound. Material also contains wrapping twisted threads with sheathing of water-soluble fibres. In other version of this material it contains wool fibres subjected to felting by means of treating with hot water and finished with entangled trimming. Composite textile material is made up of two layers placed one upon other and which are interconnected and produced same as described above. First layer is woven or knitted of twisted and/or twisted complex threads. Second layer is made as non-woven with incorporation of staple fibres. Threads in open zones are entangled. Methods for strengthening of composite textile material and material from crossing twisted and/or twisted complex threads stipulate for placing of material on supporting member and its treatment by continuous curtain of incompressible liquid under pressure of 0,1 to 2,0 hp.h/pound. In one of versions of methods, second layer of material is made non-woven with incorporation of staple fibres, in other version material incorporates wool twisted fibres which are subjected to felting by treating with hot water. Method for strengthening material made from crossing twisted and/or twisted complex threads is characterized by incorporating wrapping twisted threads.
