FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: according to method, vertical exposure is created along boundary of worked-out space in virgin rock mass. Height of vertical exposure is larger than height of worked-out space in number of times in which maximal deformations must be reduced. Creation of vertical exposure is carried out by starting from its boundary at distance equal to half of its width at which main roof retains stability and is not deformed. Extent of filling worked-out space with rock mass is measured according to triangle law with maximum located from created vertical exposure of virgin mass at distance equal to half of width at which main roof retains stability and is not deformed. Extent of filling worked-out space with filling material at place of its maximum is determined according to formula brought forth in description of invention. Application of method increases stability of water-protective mass. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 3 dwg
