FIELD: nondestructive testing of material and articles. SUBSTANCE: device incorporating case that houses fan and source of light radiation, heat-protecting facet interference mirror, microprobe, densitometer and blinds to isolate fragments of image is inserted with mobile mount of optically clear material with microprobe in the form of photosensor with optical sight, light filter and beam splitter, radiator composed of light guide, light-emitting diode fed from generator of modulated signals which frequency corresponds to bandwidth of selective amplifier of photosensor is meant to solve problems of precision measurement of optical density of X-ray photographs and to enhance quality of their visual decoding. Mechanism that moves mount is provided with reference coordinate scales and stepping drives to scan under automatic mode under control of personal computer. Optical attenuator in the form of optically clear glass or quartz with surfaces which roughness smoothly rises over length of plate is placed in front of source of light radiation. EFFECT: improved precision of measurement of optical density of X-ray photographs and enhanced quality of their visual decoding. 4 cl, 3 dwg
