FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed electric motor designed to provide rotation has mechanism converting reciprocating motion into rotary motion which is mechanically coupled with motor shaft and with two corrugated cylinders filled with low-boiling liquid accommodating heating and cooling members. With current passing in both directions liquid in one cylinder gets heated and in other cylinder, cooled, and vice versa. As a result, cylinders expand and contract executing reciprocating motion which is converted into rotary motion of motor shaft whose speed can be changed by changing frequency of supplied current.
