FIELD: chemical industry; catalytic reforming. SUBSTANCE: reactor includes casing provided with devices for supply of steam containing hot flow of gases and devices for discharge of product, refractory lining located on internal wall of casing and a layer of reforming catalyst located inside casing, and jet injector for production of steam containing hot flow of gases and connected with casing upper part operating under pressure. The reactor is distinguished by the fact that catalyst layer consists of upper and lower sublayers. Upper catalyst sublayer has catalytic activity lower than that of lower sublayer. Catalytic activity of catalyst upper sublayer equals from 1 to 50% of catalytic activity of lower sublayer. Upper sublayer thickness may be equal to 0.025-0.6 thickness of lower sublayer. Lower catalyst sublayer may consist of several sublayers containing catalysts possessing high activity in reforming with steam. EFFECT: higher efficiency of catalytic reforming process. 4 cl, 2 tbl
