FIELD: wood chemical industry, more particularly production of colophony and derivatives thereof. SUBSTANCE: colophony with multihydric alcohols is heated in inert gas atmosphere to 280-290 C for 2 or 3 hours, in the presence of 0.1-0.5 wt % thiosulphate of colophony weight and 0.1- 0.5 wt % of compounds 1 or 2 or 3 and 2 of general formula: by colophony weight in 1:1 ratio of components in the mixture. The claimed method reduces process duration, improves quality of product with respect to color intensity and increases oxidation stability thereof.
