FIELD: metalworking. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat treatment of railway tires and can be used to manufacture bodies of revolution from carbon steels. Method, which aims at providing more reliable removal of hydrogen from tires when being manufactured, includes heating preforms to be deformed, their isothermal ageing, heat strengthening, and annealing. Novelty consists in that, (i) in the course of heating preforms and when their temperature reaches 950 C, surface layers of preforms are gently cooled by 150-250 C and then heated to deformation temperature, and (ii) after tyres have been rolled, slowly supercooled to 300-450 C, and then isothermally aged at 550-650 C, repeated supercooling of tyres to the same temperature is performed before their heat strengthening. EFFECT: enhanced dehydrogenation of tyres. 1 dwg
