FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for isothermic nitration of organic aromatic compounds, where an organic aromatic compound is brought into contact and reacts with a mixture of sulphuric and nitric acid. The mixture of sulphuric and nitric acid and the organic aromatic compound are brought into contact with each other using mixing nozzle which essentially includes a cylindrical tubular reactor and an annular gap around the tubular reactor. The organic aromatic compound flows through the tubular reactor and the mixture of sulphuric and nitric acid flows through the annular gap, and they mix at the outlet of the tubular reactor and the annular gap, where the ratio of average flow rate of the organic aromatic compound in the tubular reactor to that of the mixture of sulphuric and nitric acid in the annular gap is between 0.5:1 and 10:1.
EFFECT: efficient method for isothermic nitration of organic aromatic compounds.
