FIELD: gas-discharge engineering; gas-filled high-voltage spark arresters, such as those used for shaping and handling nanosecond and higher-amplitude current pulses. SUBSTANCE: gas-filled arrester has at least one electrode mounted on smaller side of conical insulator and collar connected through one of its surfaces to end surface of conical insulator. Collar has disk-shaped or flat ring section. Other surface of collar is joined with inner flat surface of electrode. Electrode, conical insulator, and collar are made of materials having almost equal coefficients of thermal expansion. EFFECT: simplified design while maintaining stable geometry of electrode- to-electrode gap; improved reliability of insulator-to-electrode assembly joint. 2 dwg
