FIELD: gas-discharge engineering; high-voltage gas-discharge devices such as peakers. SUBSTANCE: proposed gas-filled device that can be used for small-size generators of X-rays, electron beams, and pulses of nanosecond length has envelope produced by metal case and insulator in the form of hollow truncated cone with one electrode in the form of body of revolution disposed on its small base. Other electrode is mounted on internal butt-end surface of case. Insulator-mounted electrode is built of two joined parts; torus-like surface generator of one of them is made as part of ellipse. EFFECT: enhanced service life and operating voltage stability of discharger. 2 cl, 4 , 1 tbl
