FIELD: communications. SUBSTANCE: device has receiver and transmitter for transmission of communication signals to receiver. Transmitter controls power level in transmission mode in response to power control signals which are issued by receiver. Receiver has attenuator which serves as for attenuation of received signals, ad unit which measurers intensity of attenuated signal. Level of measured signal intensity is sent to attenuator control unit and to transmission mode power control unit. These two units control respectively attenuation level in receiver and power level of transmitter in order to optimize system characteristics. Such characteristics include keeping attenuated signal in dynamic range of receiver, suppression of noise by means of control of attenuation of receiver in order to provide effective dynamic range for receiving only signals which intensity is greater than noise level and simultaneously to increase power level of communication signal in transmission mode in order to achieve effective dynamic range of receiver. Device and method may be used in systems which comprise multiple receivers which are connected to shared antenna through multiple-channel coupler.
