FIELD: building materials. SUBSTANCE: radiation-resistant material has components at the following ratio, wt.-%: water glass 15-19.6; sodium fluosilicate 1.5-2; barium sulfate 78.4-83.5. Composition provides the following properties: mean density of gamma-radiation attenuation is 2.8-2.91 g/cm3; coefficient of gamma-radiation attenuation is 0.225-0.232; strength limits at compression at the absorbed γ-radiation doses 1.2 x ×106; 4.8 x 106 and 8.4 x 106 Gy are 12.2-14.2; 16.4-22.8 and 22.6-28.5 MPa, respectively. Material can be used for protection against ionizing radiation in building industry. EFFECT: increased radiation strength. 2 tbl
